Picture Matting

Picture matting has come along way in the last few years.  A well chosen and crafted matting presentation can enhance the image in your photo or artwork and add to the richness of the presentation.

There are a variety of mats available these days.  They can be made of paper and/or cloth.  Conservation mats made of acid-free material are also available.  Mats can be specially cut with a variety of corners and custom graphics or cuts are also available.  Collage mats for highlighting multiple images are also popular. 

Mats can change the perception of an image radically with a different combination of colors.  Mats can add the perception of depth to an image with double or even triple matting.

Mats protect your photo or art by keeping them from touching the glass.  Without the picture matting, the photo or art work could adhere to the glass over time, destroying its usability or worth.
